October 6-12 was Fire Prevention Week! To promote safety and community partnerships, the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department taught the Pre-K to 2nd grade students at Jackson Elementary School about fire safety and how to stop, drop, and roll! The students also visited the fire trucks to learn more about the equipment firefighters use. Last week, both Clinton Elementary School and Jackson Elementary School hosted family literacy nights! Families came together to celebrate reading, engage with teachers and other literacy experts from the Audubon Regional Library and other organizations, and learn new literacy strategies they can use at home. As an extra special treat to end the evening, students were able to take books home with them!
