ALL ABOUT ME!
In East Feliciana Public Schools, we work every day to ensure our students are safe and empowered! During the first week of school, students in Ms. Woodridge’s third grade classroom at Clinton Elementary School practiced their speaking and listening skills by curating three meaningful items that hold special significance for them in an “All About Me” bag and sharing about the contents of that bag with their classmates. This activity is designed for students to learn more about each other to create a safe and empowering classroom environment. Way to go, CES third graders!

On the first day of school, first grade students in Mrs. Glascock’s class at Slaughter Elementary School read the book 'First Day Jitters' and drank some “jitter juice” to get rid of first day jitters. We are so proud of all of our students for their strong start to this school year!

As we complete our second week of school, our students are already hard at work mastering skills from our high-quality curricula. In East Feliciana Public Schools, we prioritize strong, meaningful, and targeted reading and math instruction in elementary grades; meaningful project-based learning to discover and develop student interests in middle grades; and high school courses and activities designed for students to participate in relevant opportunities and earn meaningful credentials that prepare them for postsecondary success in college and career. Check out this week’s district newsletter at efschools.net/page/goodnews to see that learning in action!

Every minute matters in East Feliciana Public Schools. Whether students are waiting in line, transitioning to lunch, or walking off the bus, every adult plays a role in reinforcing the foundational skills our students need. That’s why we’re committed to providing ongoing training and development for ALL of our educators, including our transportation staff, who participated in an inservice on August 4!

In East Feliciana Public Schools, we believe that strong schools are built on strong relationships—with families, educators, and the broader community working together to support student success. We encourage families to engage with our community partners this Saturday!

Our new teachers participated in a two-day new teacher induction during the last week in July. The purpose of this program was to introduce these educators to our student-driven instructional model. Priority number one in our new strategic plan is ensuring aligned and targeted instruction for each student. Providing the ongoing coaching, training, and development each of our educators need is one of the key ways we provide each student with the instruction they need! We can’t wait to see these new educators hit the ground running in their classrooms on Monday!
