SPOTLIGHT ON HEALTH AND SAFETY: We are committed to continuous learning for all of our staff members! As part of this month’s professional development day, staff members from all schools received training on providing CPR and utilizing the AED machines that are located at all school sites. Student and staff safety is the cornerstone of all of our work in East Feliciana Public Schools!

SPREADING LOVE AT SES: Students in Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Cox’s classes at Slaughter Elementary School made Valentine’s cards for Grace Nursing Home.

From tank to table! 🌿✨
Students at the East Feliciana STEAM Academy harvested a crop of fresh, crisp lettuce—grown through their aquaponics system! Three different varieties were picked, prepped, and served the same day in garden salads for lunch. 🍽🥗
Seeing students take part in growing and harvesting their own food is incredible—it deepens their connection to what’s on their plate and highlights the importance of sustainable, hands-on learning. 💡🌱
Amazing job, EF STEAM team! 👏 #FutureFarmers #Aquaponics #HandsOnLearning #GrowingOurFuture #SchoolGrownSalads

FOOD SCIENCE AT CES: The 5th grade science class at Clinton Elementary School conducted a stability test by adding different texture ingredients (flour, cornstarch, and lecithin) to the oil and vinegar mixture to see which additives will create the most stable mixture. Can you tell which mixture is more stable Students learn that ingredients that allow normal unmixable liquids to stay mixed are called emulsifiers. Students are still on the journey to creating their very own flavorful salad dressing!
