SOLVING SOAPY MYSTERIES AT EFMS: Students at East Feliciana Middle School conducted a soap bubble and bottle investigation. The students observed and described what happens when the air inside a closed system is heated and cooled.

Each day, Pre-K students at Clinton Elementary School begin the day with their morning affirmation as a class. Then they spend the day developing their literacy, communication, and social skills through a variety of engaging learning opportunities!

A GROWTH MINDSET: THE FOUNDATION OF SUCCESS
Last week, students at Jackson Elementary School and Slaughter Elementary School participated in NED’s Mindset Mission, a live, school-wide assembly performance that teaches the benefits of a growth mindset in a way kids love and remember. This year, students at each of our schools will set goals for their performance throughout the course of the school year.
We hope that everyone has remained safe during this severe weather event. Based on guidance from emergency management officials, all East Feliciana Public Schools and offices will reopen Friday, September 13. Students should bring their completed Wednesday and Thursday distance learning assignments with them. Thank you for your patience and grace throughout this process.
East Feliciana Public Schools Emergency Notice:
Based on guidance from emergency management officials, all afterschool activities for East Feliciana Public Schools are canceled for Tuesday, September 10. All East Feliciana Public Schools and offices will remain closed on Wednesday, September 11 and Thursday, September 12. On Thursday, we will provide an update regarding our return after assessing impacts of the storm on our schools and our community.
In accordance with our Continuous Learning Plan, all students will receive assignment sheets from their school for use in distance learning during the closure.
On Wednesday, September 4, East Feliciana High School hosted a College, Career, and Transition Fair for EFHS and Slaughter Community Charter School students. Our goal is for students to graduate from EFHS with meaningful credentials and an action plan for future success!
ALL ABOUT THE ABCs! Kindergarten students at Clinton Elementary have been learning and practicing letter writing in various ways during the first weeks of school.
Representing the 1971 through 1994 graduating classes of Jackson High School, Sondra Hayes presented a donation to the East Feliciana High School Athletics Department to EFHS Principal Mia Taylor-King and Superintendent Keisha L. Netterville at last week’s school board meeting.
East Feliciana Public Schools is monitoring the emerging tropical weather system with state and local officials and will continue to do so. We were excited to celebrate and commemorate new beginnings on Friday night as we officially cut the ribbon for the renovated East Feliciana High School stadium. In attendance for the ribbon cutting were board vice president Joyce A Kent; board members JD Dantzler, Melissa Davis, Lillian G. Drake, Patricia King, and Rufus Nesbitt; state representative Roy Daryl Adams; district attorney Samuel D’Aquilla; superintendent Keisha Netterville; EFHS principal Mia Taylor-King; and EFHS head coach Darius Matthews. We want to thank each of these individuals as well as those who are unable to attend for their efforts in advancing and enhancing experiences for our students at East Feliciana High School.
MY LIBRARIAN IS A CAMEL! As part of their Guidebooks unit on 'The Stories Julian Tells,' 3rd grade English language arts students at all of our elementary school are learning about how children access books in different countries. Last week, they worked in groups to create visual presentations about their assigned country.

CURRICULUM COUNTS IN EAST FELICIANA PUBLIC SCHOOLS: This year, our goal is for teachers to implement their high-quality curriculum in a way that provides all students

Teachers and students across all of our schools are already hard at work completing lessons so they can stay on track to mastering all standards this year! Slaughter Elementary School first graders are using the new Eureka Math Squared talking tool poster to model critical thinking in class!
