
Jackson Elementary School classrooms are participating in a “Magikarp Madness” Kindness Challenge this month. Students are completing weekly kindness challenges and tracking them on a classroom calendar. Each week, the school identifies the classes with the most acts of kindness that will move forward in the bracket. Students in 3rd grade earned a kindness point by volunteering to read to 1st graders.



Last week, students from Clinton Elementary School attended Ag Magic Baton Rouge presented by the LSU Ag Center. Students took an interactive, visually stimulating educational journey through Louisiana agriculture and the environment.




A COMMITMENT TO SAFETY, SERVICE, AND LEGACY AT EFHS: Last week, students at East Feliciana High School participated in CPR training led by Wardell Lewis, BSN RN, a 2004 graduate of Clinton High School.



SPOTLIGHT ON SCIENCE AT SES: Students in Ms. McIntyre’s sixth grade science class at Slaughter Elementary School conducted experiments to explore energy storage molecules in living organisms.



The EFMS track & field team finished in first place last week at the Sherman/Brown Invitationals held in Woodville, MS. Coach Darren Matthews was named outstanding coach. The EFMS team has students from both East Feliciana Middle School and East Feliciana STEAM Academy.



A TASTE OF LOUISIANA AT JES: To celebrate great behavior and citizenship, the Jackson Elementary School PBIS committee hosted the school’s annual Taste of Louisiana Festival. Students learned about and tasted delicacies from a range of historic festivals across the state.







"Mobile Zoo" Stops at CES: Last week, students at Clinton Elementary School received a special visit from BREC’s mobile zoo program that is designed to educate the public while reinforcing the message of wildlife conservation.



Learning the Language of Math at EFHS: Geometry students at East Feliciana High School work to understand the precise language that describes the properties of volume.


GETTING TO THE HEART OF LEARNING AT EF STEAM: During their Introduction to STEM Pathways and Careers course, 7th graders at East Feliciana STEAM Academy designed and constructed papier-mâché animals that incorporate a programmed microbit, including a pig with a beating heart.


EFMS HOSTS BETA CLUB INDUCTIONS: East Feliciana Middle School hosted their Beta Club induction ceremony last week. The national Beta organization promotes the ideals of achievement, character, leadership, and service.





Students in Mrs. Gibbs’ kindergarten math class at Slaughter Elementary School have been modeling their thinking for their classmates!



Jackson Elementary School observed Read Across America week with guest readers and special “Book and Blanket” and “Teen Cafe” reading activities. Thank you to paraprofessional Trellia Freeman for coordinating this exciting celebration of literacy!






"Nacho" Average Artists at EF STEAM: East Feliciana STEAM Academy students
enrolled in the EF Accelerate afterschool program celebrated Pi Day on 3-14 by designing nacho art that represented the concept of Pi.





SHAPING THE FUTURE WITH ART AT CES: Last week, students at Clinton Elementary School painted their unit project in art class. The unit covers creating drawings using geometric shapes and blending colors.





This week, juniors at East Feliciana High School participated in their class ring ceremony, signing the commitment to graduate and celebrating their success through their high school journey so far.


Mrs. Smith’s 2nd graders at Slaughter Elementary are working on repeated addition. Many of her students are writing multiplication sentences already! Mrs. Smith uses small group instruction as an opportunity to accelerate all students’ learning based on their individual needs.

LIFE CYCLES IN ACTION AT JES: Ms. Griffith’s 3rd grade science students at Jackson
Elementary School are raising butterflies as part of their study of life cycles. They set up the habitat for their new caterpillars and are looking forward to seeing them grow and change!


Growing Together at CES and EFMS: 4-H members at Clinton Elementary School and East Feliciana Middle School recently did spring planting in their school garden beds!








CARING FOR CARROTS AT EF STEAM: 7th graders at the East Feliciana STEAM Academy took a break from programming their microbits to tend to their gardens. They harvested a whole bucket of carrots, continuing their discussion on how carrots naturally grow in different shapes and how these carrots are actually more “natural” than the “picture-perfect” carrots you may see in stores.
