Slaughter Elementary School held a Family Literacy Night on Thursday, December 1. The event was headlined by Macy Rushing, a local author who did a reading of her children's book The Lucky Cow. In addition to meeting a local author, families participating in Literacy Night at SES were able learn about their child's reading progress, access multiple resources to encourage reading and learning at home, and play an exciting game of Book Bingo to win books to take home. Engaging families and the community is a priority of East Feliciana Public Schools' strategic plan.
