Eligible EFHS students were able to register to vote thanks to a visit from the East Feliciana Registrar of Voters. Voter Registration Week is the last week of August. Developing partnerships for our students to engage in their community is a priority of our strategic plan.

Team Spirit at SES: The Positive Behavior Intervention and Support team at Slaughter Elementary School hosted a Jersey/Team Spirit Day last Friday. SES is ready for Louisiana football season!
LEARNING THROUGH NONFICTION READING: Last week, students at Jackson Elementary School learned that monarch caterpillars eat milkweed leaves.
BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH CHEER: Members of the East Feliciana Middle School cheerleading team recently participated in special activity days during practice, including Barbie Monday, Tye Dye Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, and Anything But a Cup Thursday.
On the Case at EFHS: Students in biology class studied Addie, a young girl whose real life is the subject of a case study exploring natural selection. Students created visual timelines to model & explain how bacteria caused her to become & stay sick despite receiving antibiotics.
ALL SMILES AT SES: Students at Slaughter Elementary School receive a special tooth locket when they lose a tooth at school.
Students in our elementary science classes have been taking a hands-on approach to learning through the Amplify science curriculum. Students at JES are taking notes on their observations, and students at CES built a simple electrical system using a solar panel, wiring, and a fan.

Students at EF STEAM have been preparing their new raised beds with soil in order to grow okra and collard greens. Due to heavy growth in some areas, they transferred plants to areas with less growth. They have also been socializing the new chickens in the chicken coop.
