CHAMPIONSHIP SPOTLIGHT: EFHS student Herman Batiste won the Division II Boys' High Jump and placed 6th in the Division II Boys' Long Jump at the 2023 LHSAA Indoor Track and Field State Meet. Slaughter Elementary School sixth graders collaborated with peers to reflect on their progress in reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary using the supplemental curriculum resource Reading Plus. Students shared at least one improvement made since using Reading Plus. Sharing included “I read over 100,000 words!” “My fluency rate improved!” and "I have learned new vocabulary!”
