Exploring Finance Park with Junior Achievement at EFMS: 8th grade students enrolled in Introduction to Business Computer Applications at East Feliciana Middle School recently completed a capstone virtual simulation as part of their participation in the Junior Achievement Finance Park program. This capstone is an opportunity for students to apply their new learning about making intelligent financial decisions that last a lifetime, including decisions related to income, expenses, savings, and credit. This program was implemented in collaboration with Feliciana Bank and Trust. Employees from Feliciana Bank and Trust shared in the content delivery during class time.

JES held a pep rally prior to state testing! The EFHS cheerleaders performed, former JES students & current EFHS cheerleaders Kadence & Markeisha encouraged students, the faculty cheerleaders & Rah Rah led cheers, students had a dance contest, & Ms. Phillips rode her unicycle!




Prior to the beginning of state testing, Slaughter Elementary School held a LEAP pep rally featured a 5th and 6th grade step group and a 4th-6th grade cheer squad led by Mrs. Peterson. The LEAP theme at SES this year is “It’s game time!”

To celebrate great behavior and build positive community, the PBIS team at JES hosted a "Taste of Louisiana" Festival earlier this spring. Each grade level provided a tasty treat from one of Louisiana's famous festivals.











East Feliciana High School recently hosted a pathway career fair for all current 8th through 11th graders. Students were able to learn about college and career opportunities related to our pre-engineering, pre-educator, and environmental protection & sustainability pathways as well as opportunities in trades and for service. Community partners attending the EFHS Student Pathways fair included Baton Rouge Community College, Baton Rouge Fire Department, attorney LaTigdra Brown, Country Boy Smokers, barber Sammy Davis, DEMCO, the East Feliciana Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, East Feliciana Public Schools Human Resources, LSU College of Engineering, Pelican State Credit Union, the Southern University Ag Center, RKM Primary Care, and Upward Bound. Students in FFA, EFHS pre-engineering classes, and EFHS pre-educator classes also shared with their peers about their experiences. Ensuring each student has a clear pathway to graduate from high school with a meaningful credential is a priority of East Feliciana Public Schools.
