In East Feliciana Public Schools, we are joining with districts across the country to observe Attendance Awareness Month. According to the organization Attendance Works, more than 8 million students across the country are missing so many days of school that they are academically at risk. Chronic absence — missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason—excused, unexcused absences and suspensions, can translate into students having difficulty learning to read by the third-grade, achieving in middle school, and graduating from high school. Through resources like our school-based clinics operated by RKM Primary Care, we are committed to connecting you with the resources you need to overcome any obstacles to regular school attendance for your child.
