Child Welfare and Attendance

Our Goals

The overall goal of East Feliciana Public Schools' Child Welfare and Attendance Department is to ensure that all students have an opportunity to attend school and experience success in a safe, risk-free learning environment.

Our Services

As we endeavor to meet this goal, we realize that our students, families, and school sites will need support. Therefore, in accordance with district policy and state laws, the following services and/or assistance is provided through the Child Welfare and Attendance Department:

· Student Attendance (Interventions, Truancy, etc.)
· Student Admission and Enrollment Procedures
· Student Discipline Procedures
· Student Due Process Hearings (Expulsion Hearings and Suspension Appeals)
· Student Placement at the East Feliciana Enrichment Academy
· Student and Family Referrals to other Departments within the School System or to Community Agencies and/or Partners
· Student Registration Requirements
· Student Transfer Requests
· School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

It is our desire that these coordinated services, combined with knowledge of education, the law, and effective communication skills will result in complicated student-centered situations being resolved in a manner that contributes to student success and the safety of all.
